Scotty “Poppy” Dawayne Rogers, age 53, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on June 10, 2026.
Born on April 6, 1973, in Rome, Georgia, Scott was the beloved son of the late Joseph B Haggard and Brenda Arlene Haggard.
A lifelong resident of the area, he graduated from Armuchee High School in 1992 and went on to build a career as a pipefitter with Tebarco Mechanical. Scott was a man who never met a stranger and was blessed with many lifelong friendships. His Baptist faith was an important part of his life, and he was a proud member of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, listening to music, and riding his motorcycles. Above all else, Scott cherished his family. Known lovingly as “Poppy,” he found his greatest joy in being a father and grandfather. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, smile and larger-than-life personality could brighten any room. He was truly the life of the party and brought happiness to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Scott is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Lisa Rogers; his children, Kirsten Laughery (Hayden), Jasper Rogers (Keeley) and Ansley Rogers (Seth); his sisters, Amanda Buffington (Adam) and Rhonda Rogers; his brothers, Jeff Rogers and Justin Rogers; his beloved grandchildren, Sophia, Lincoln, and Emerson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
