Ricky Euden Watters, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked a woman in front of her two small children.
Police said that Watters hit the woman on her head with knitchen plates. The victim was left with visible red marks on her face and a knot on her head. She also suffered a bruise on her left arm.
The incident occurred at an apartment on Dodd Blvd.
Watters is charged with two counts cruelty to children and battery.
