So with the Cleveland Cavaliers recently ending the “streak” of losing, I wanted to take a look at each of the four big sports in America and see just who has the most room to complain at lack of greatness.

In baseball, only four teams have gone over 50 years without winning a title; Texas and Houston, who have never won one, and Chicago Cubs at 108 years and the Cleveland Indians at 68 years.

In the NFL, it seems like the older teams are the ones with the longest droughts.   Atlanta,  Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee,  Buffalo and San Diego have all gone between 50 and 60 years without a title. Cleveland has gone 70, Philadelphia  83, Detroit 86  and the Arizona Cardinals have gone 97 years without a title.

In the NBA, no team has gone over 50 years without an NBA title.  However, number have gone 40 plus.  Utah has gone 42, the LA Clippers 46, Phoenix 48, Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers both at 49. Those guys have not won a single title since coming into the league.   The New York Knicks have gone 43 years since winning their last, Milwaukee Bucks  45 and the then St. Louis Hawks (Now Atlanta) has gone 57 years.

In the NHL, all the old times have captured the trophy, but some of my parents teams have not.  Only a few have gone forty plus:  Philadelphia Flyers  41, Arizona Coyotes  46, Buffalo Sabers  46 and the Washington Capitals have gone 43 years without hoisting the trophy.

.So who are the big city winners over my lifetime? By the way, I was born in 1981.

First off Boston.  Each of their four big teams has captured at least one title in the past 8 years, some multiple.

The city of San Francisco has done very well too.  The Giants and Golden State have dominated their respective leagues, while the 49ers have played extremely well in the past decade.

Crazy to believe that Miami has also been a hot bed of titles in our lifetime. We want to think New York, Boston, and so on, but the sunshine state has done very well in all sports. The Heat won two, the Marlins have won two and the closet hockey team, the Lightening also hoisted a trophy recently.

Below is a list I created that gives each professional sports league, their teams and their last championship.  Heads up Georgia sports fans….  It could be worse.
