Matthew Dillon Lane, 38 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stabbed a 39 year-old man at a location on Tumlin Drive.
Reports said that Lane admitted to stabbing the victim, but stated that he was only trying to defend himself.
Police added that while being taken into custody, Lane called 911 and said that he was being illegally detained by authorities.
Lane is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful conduct during 911 calls.
