Adults ages 55 and older will have the chance to explore new interests, learn new skills and connect with others when Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum launches its Fall 2026 Senior Scholars program.

Now in its 32nd year, the continuing education program offers lifelong learning opportunities through classes and lectures taught by Berry College faculty and local experts. Since it began in 1994, Senior Scholars has provided educational and enrichment opportunities for older adults in the community.

This fall’s schedule includes more than 30 courses, lectures and guided tours covering a wide range of topics, including history, literature, technology, arts, wellness and local culture.

Participants can choose from classes on subjects such as the Declaration of Independence, the global response to the Holocaust, creative writing, mindfulness, ballroom dancing, pickleball and digital design using Canva. New courses will also cover everyday decision-making, etiquette, publishing on Substack and creating personalized cards and calendars.

Several popular classes are returning, including the Senior Scholars Book Club, Gentle Yoga, Zumba and local history programs. The semester also features guided outings, including the Possum Trot Historical Walking Tour, a botanical hike along Berry College’s Victory Lake Trail and a tour of the historic House o’ Dreams.

Courses range from one-time lectures to classes that meet for up to eight weeks. Most sessions will be held at Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, with some taking place on the Berry College campus.

Registration opens Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. Classes begin in mid-September and continue throughout the fall semester.

Participants may register online or in person at Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum during regular business hours. A complete course schedule and registration information are available online. For more information, call 706-368-6789 or email [email protected].
