The Rome Emperors are sending four of their top performers to the next level after the Atlanta Braves announced a series of roster moves Tuesday. Leading the group promoted to Double-A Columbus is left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti, the Braves’ top-rated prospect. Also moving up are outfielder Eric Hartman, the organization’s No. 2 prospect, infielder John Gil, ranked No. 6, and outfielder Owen Carey.

Hartman earned the promotion after putting together one of the best offensive seasons on the Emperors’ roster. In 94 games, he collected 100 hits, blasted 24 home runs, drove in 64 runs and scored 74 times.

Gil also made a strong case for promotion, batting .242 with 12 home runs, 47 RBIs and an impressive 43 stolen bases in 95 games.

Carey appeared in 53 games with Rome, hitting eight home runs while driving in 37 runs.

On the mound, Caminiti posted a 3-4 record with a 3.89 ERA over 18 appearances, including 17 starts. The left-hander struck out 93 batters in 83⅓ innings while allowing 64 hits.

The Emperors also welcomed several additions to the roster.

Outfielder Logan Braunschweig returns to Rome after spending time with Double-A Columbus, where he hit .192 with nine RBIs in 39 games.

Infielder Cody Miller rejoins the Emperors from Single-A Augusta after batting .206 with seven home runs and 25 RBIs in 45 games. Relief pitcher Riley Frey also returns to Rome following a brief stint in Double-A.

Joining the Emperors for the first time are outfielders Conor Essenburg and Luis Guanipa, along with catcher Archer Brookman.

Essenburg, Atlanta’s fifth-round draft pick in 2025, impressed at Augusta by hitting .286 with 14 home runs, 44 RBIs and 48 runs scored in 59 games.

Guanipa arrives in Rome after batting .303 with 11 home runs, 70 RBIs and 114 hits in 91 games for Augusta. He is in his fourth season in the Braves organization.

Brookman brings upper-level experience after appearing in 60 games with Columbus this season, where he hit .249 with seven home runs and 19 RBIs. The 27-year-old catcher played collegiately at Ohio State.

The roster moves come as the Braves continue to move several of their top prospects through the minor league system during the second half of the season.
