Mrs. JoAnne Ledbetter Alexander, age 90, of Cedartown

Mrs. JoAnne Ledbetter Alexander, age 90, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Sunday morning, August 23, 2026.

Mrs. Alexander was born January 24, 1936, in Cedartown, the daughter of the late Willard A. Ledbetter and the late Mary Frances Bridges Ledbetter. A lifelong resident of Cedartown, Mrs. Alexander spent the majority of her life as secretaryy for the Polk School District, a position she maintained until her retirement after over 30 years of faithful service. In 1955, she married her beloved husband, Bobby Eugene Alexander, to whom she was married for 62 loving years until his passing in 2017. A truly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mrs. Alexander never met a stranger and loved all–in turn, she was also equally loved BY all. She was never hesitant to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, a trait she steadfastly conveyed to her family and friends. She was a beacon of love to all and will deeply missed, but her memory will be carried for generations to come.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alexander is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Eugene Alexander; and her siblings, Jimmy Ledbetter and Mary Nell Ledbetter Bacon.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by her loving daughter, Cindy Alexander McKelvey (Terry), of Montgomery, AL; cherished granddaughter, Madison Litterell (Gabe), of Rathdrum, ID; and beloved great-grandson, Lawson Litterell.

Graveside services for Mrs. Alexander will be conducted Wednesday August 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the family lot of the Northview Cemetery with Joey Martin and Tony Brazier officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Terry McKelvey, Tony Brazier, Brad Shelton, and David Shelton.
