Watson Wiley Trent, 28 of Kingston, was arrested Tuesday after officers responded to a reported burglary at a residence on 3rd Street in Shannon.
Reports say officers found Trent outside the residence attempting to gain entry. While detaining him, officers conducted a search and discovered a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.
During a probable cause search, officers also located a gray crystalline substance in the front right coin pocket of Trent’s blue jeans.
The report states officers later determined Trent had permission to be on the property, indicating the original burglary report was unfounded.
Trent is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug-Related Objects.
