Mr. Ronald Gary Baker, age 79, of Rome

Mr. Ronald Gary Baker, age 79, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Baker was born in Floyd County, Georgia on March 12, 1947, son of the late Sonny Baker and the late Margaret Louise Smallwood Baker. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Baker and Billy Ray Baker. Mr. Baker worked for many years in the carpet industry. He loved collecting Hot Wheels cars and NASCAR die cast models. Mr. Baker enjoyed fishing, watching football and going to yard sales. He was the best Daddy to his children and was always there for them when they needed him no matter the circumstances.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Connie Scott Baker; two daughters, Carol Nation (Donald) a Michelle Bradley (Barry); a son, Scott Covington; a step-daughter, Cindy Baxter (Eric); 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings, his twin, Donald Baker, Debbie Rayburn, Kathy Baker, Donna Tucker, Tim Baker, and Ann Brown; nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Baker will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
