David Allen Hamby, 52 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs while being pulled over for driving while speaking on a cellphone.
Police said that after stopping Hamby on Donahoo Road, they discovered that he was driving on a suspended license. A search then resulted in officers allegedly locating suspected methamphetamine in his pocket.
Hamby is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, driving on a suspended license and distracted hands free violation.
