Edwin Royce Campbell, age 83, of Armuchee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at a local hospital.

Mr. Campbell was born in Floyd County, Georgia on April 11, 1942, son of the late George Ernest Campbell and the late Pansy Boggs Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Henderson (Billy). Mr. Campbell was a graduate of Armuchee High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and also served in the Army Reserves. The strength and dedication he showed in service carried through every part of his life, from the love he had for his family, to the care he gave his farm and land. Prior to retirement, he worked at Georgia Kraft (International Paper) for almost 40 years as a Lab Technician. Mr. Campbell was also a long-time devoted member of Armuchee Baptist Church.

He loved nothing more than being with his family- his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren- who were the light of his life. Daddy/Papaw were his favorite titles. His joy was simple and pure, working on the farm, tending to his cows, and riding his four-wheeler along side his dog, Sparkplug.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep love, and his contagious laugh. Though the fields may be quieter now, his spirit will live on in every sunrise over the pasture and every laugh shared among those he loved the most. To all that knew him, it is not goodbye but “Toot-a-loo”.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Boozer (Marty); a son, Lance Campbell (Tonya); grandchildren, Brandi Oxford (Seth), Karli Lansdell (Zach), Amber West (Lance), Aubryn Patton (Zack McKenzie) and Ethan Campbell; great grandchildren, Wyatt Littlejohn, Mila Oxford, Levi Lansdell, Lexi Lansdell, and Hudson West; the mother of his children, Nancy Campbell-White; sisters-in-law, Joan Blalock (Wyman) and Carole Everett; niece, Lisa Hicks (Ronnie); nephew Billy Henderson (Niki); several other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 4pm at Armuchee Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Agan officiating. Interment will follow in the Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rome American Legion Honor Guard presenting military honors.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 2pm until 3:45pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Thursday at 3:30pm and include Ethan Campbell, Franklin Selman, Darrell Blalock, Zach Lansdell, Lance West, Seth Oxford, Zack McKenzie, Billy Henderson, and W.C. Dunaway.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Childhood Cancer research/organizations.
