Jacob Jamal Julian Richmond, 18 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attacked a 23 year-old woman with a crutch and then a firearm.
Reports stated that after Richmond hit the victim with the crutch, he fired the gun into the air within 50 yards of a street.
The incident occurred on W Forrest Street.
Richmond is charged with simple battery, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm near a public street.
