Rome Man Jailed for Armed Robbery of Convenience Store

A convicted felon, Kevin Jeriod Heard, 55 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to rob the Marathon Gas Station on North Broad Street.

Police said that Heard and another suspect, identified as Lamar Keith Dumb, robbed the store at gunpoint back on May 29^th.

Heard is charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and failure to register as a sex offender.
