Demarco Anthony Farmer, 26 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he lied to officers after committing a run and run on Chulio Road.
Police said that after crashing, a witness observed Farmer exiting his vehicle and leaving the scene. After being located, he failed to stop for the police. Once he surrendered, he allegedly gave officers a fake name and date of birth to hide the fact that he had an active warrant for his arrest.
Farmer is charged with hit and run, false statements and writings, obstruction, driving without license and probation violation.
