Alfred Jamall Echols, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he tore and ripped a shirt and bra of his spouse at their home on Roseway Circle.
Police added that the contact was made without the approval of the victim. Officers went on to say that when they arrived on the scene, Echols fled on foot and ignored their commands to stop.
Echols is charged with simple battery and obstruction.
