Jamey Fuller Harris, 50 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he fired a gun into a bedroom wall where his 19 year-old daughter was inside.
Reports said that the victim told police that Haris had been having paranoid delusions and was imagining that there was an intruder inside the home.
Authorities added that the child was in her bed sleeping at the time of the shooting. Investigators were able to see where the bullet entered the bedroom and struck the opposite wall and exited the house toward the roadway.
Harris is charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct.
