Timothy Hugh Hurst, 42 of Dallas, was arrested in Rome after reports said he was found in possession of methamphetamine and needles.
Officers said that the items were found during a search of his car during a road check. They added that the search was done due to the fact that Hurst had an active warrant for his arrest.
The road check was done at the intersection of GA 1 and SR 140.
Hurst is charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.
