James Larry Nelson, 68 of Shannon, was arrested this week after reports said he fought with police after they found him drunk and sleeping inside a running car.
Officers said that Nelson had pulled over in a driveway on Erein Court. When they arrived on scene, Nelson then refused to step out of the vehicle, and drive away.
Reports added that while trying to drive away, Nelson nearly struck a police vehicle.
Police then forcefully removed Nelson from his car while telling police that he only drank “several beers”.
Nelson is charged with obstruction and DUI.
