Alex Eliseo Gabriel Gonzalez, 17 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he led police on a motorcycle chase, reaching speeds of 176 mph.
Police said that they initially attempted to stop Gonzalez and another motorcyclist on Ga Loop 1 for driving at a speed of 88 mph. However, after initiating their blue lights, the motorcycles attempted to speed away.
Reports added that Gonzalez attempted to cross the median when he fled the motorcycle and ran on foot.
He was captured a short time later.
Gonzales is charged with speeding, reckless driving, attempting to elude police, improper lane change, obstruction and driving on a violation of license class.
