Daysamine Nayshay Ware, 27 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said she attacked a child with a basketball.
Police said that they were dispatched to 712 Jefferson St. in reference to a Domestic Disturbance/Assault.
Upon arrival, officers said that they spoke with the complainant, who explained that her sister, Deyasmine Ware, had pushed and tripped her 6-year-old son, causing him to fall to the ground.
She then proceeded to forcefully throw a basketball at the victim, striking him in the head.
Police added that while they were speaking to the victim’s mother, Deyasmine began to curse loudly as she was bouncing a basketball in the
street. Deyasmine lost control of the basketball and as the 6-year-old juvenile attempted to retrieve it, she lunged at him and began cursing at him.
When officers began to detain Ware, she began cursing at them.
While on the way to jail, Deyasmine allegedly continued to curse and threatened physical assault/harm to police.
Ware is charged with simple battery, cruelty to children, and terroristic threats/acts.
