Corey Desmond McHenry Sr, 41 of Rome, was arrested at the Chevron on Turner McCall Blvd after he allegedly attacked a 30 year-old woman.
Reports said that McHenry left visible markings on the victim after punching them.
Police added that while taking McHenry into custody, he was found with just under 28 grams of methamphetamine inside the jail.
McHenry is charged with battery, possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, probation violation and possession of drugs by an inmate.
