An Armuchee Elementary School parent, Ashleigh Renee Selman, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her two children ages, 8 and 9, to miss an exorbitant amount of days of school.
Reports said that her 8 year-old son missed 25 days of school, with 12 unexcused. Reports said that since Selman signed a truancy letter last in February of last year, the child continued to miss 31 days of school, 15 unexcused.
Police said that Selman also allowed her 9 year-old child to miss 39 days of school 20 of those unexcused.
After signing the truancy letter as the same time of her other child, the 9 year-old continued to miss 42 days of school, 24 unexcused.
Selman is charged with two counts mandatory education of children.
