Jessica Marie Mantooth, 36 of Rome, and Christopher James Mantooth, 38 of Rome, were arrested this week after reports said they allowed their six-year-old child to live in a home, located at 192 Smith Road, that was in deplorable condition.
Officers said that the home was filled with a broken/non-working toilet filled with feces that has not been flushed for “years”. The home was filled with open, full bags of trash that was covered in roaches, flies, and gnats.
Reports added that officers also found dirty dishes with rotten food on the counters and floors.
The home was unstable with holes in the floor as well.
Both are charged with 1st degree cruelty to children.
