David Wesley Braziel, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he punched a woman in the face with his fist during a dispute at a home on Williamson Street.
Officers added that a small child witnessed the attack, which resulted in the victim suffering a bloodied and swollen lip.
Braziel is charged with battery and 3rd degree cruelty to children.
