Officers with the Floyd County Police Department and the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force recentenly contacted the Murray County Sheriff’s Office to notify them that two Chatsworth individuals were attempting to meet a 14 year old female for sexual purposes.

FCPD and RFMTF gathered this information from an undercover chat operation.

The individuals, identified as Johnathan Eastridge and Jessica Thomas, were subsequently charged with the following: Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation, Sexual Exploitation of Minors, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Related Objects.

The Murray County Sheriff’s Office intercepted J. Eastridge as he arrived to the scheduled meetup between himself and who he believed to be a 14 year old female. MCSO apprehended J. Eastridge at this time, then arrested J. Thomas at her residence due to her involvement in the case.

The following is an account of the remainder of the investigation conducted by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office: “Upon further investigation, it was determined that the individuals were in possession of additional child exploitative material. A search warrant was executed at 342 Deep Woods Dr which yielded several devices containing child sexual abuse material and items related to the sexual abuse of children.”The collaboration of these agencies led to the arrest of the individuals listed who may have had the opportunity to prey on more children in their community or others.
