Rome Man Jailed for Attacking Wife in front of Children

Christopher Chase Payne, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he assaulted his spouse in front of their two children.

Reports said that during an argument with the victim, Payne struck the wall of the carport causing damage to the siding.  He then proceeded to hit the rear passenger window of the car while two children were inside.

The incident occurred at a home on Green Acres.

Payne is charged with two counts cruelty to children in the 2^nd degree, criminal trespass and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
