Thomas Ashley , 24 of Cedartown, was arrested recently after reports said he became physically with a woman after a dispute over her child.

Reports said that officers were dispatched to a domestic violence situation on Evergreen Lane.

Upon arrival, Sergeant Zuker was already on scene and provided a description of a male subject who had reportedly left the area. Sgt. Zuker and another officer proceeded to locate a male matching the description behind the apartment complex, sitting on a stump.

Officers then detained the individual and identified him as Thomas Ashley, who had been reported as being involved in the domestic situation by the other party.

Officers placed Ashley in the backseat of the patrol car and returned to the scene where they spoke with the complainant.

The complainant then stated that her son had thrown up on both himself and her, and she asked for help from the child’s father, Thomas Ashley. She added that this led to an argument between her and Thomas. She reported that the argument escalated into a physical altercation during which Thomas ripped her shirt and shoved her against the wall near the stairs.

Thomas is charged with simple battery.
