Jerry Duane Harris, 51 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he starved his dog, Jethro, to the point of near death at his home on Teat Street.
Reports said that the animal was found with his ribs, lumbar, vertebrae and pelvic bones clearly visible from a distance.
He was also found with no palpable fat and with evidence of other boney prominence and minimal loss of muscle mass.
Harris is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
