Floyd County Commissioners decided on Tuesday night to vote “no” in giving a Tax Allocation District (TAD) to a new Home2Suies by Hilton hotel at Five Points in Rome.
The move comes after the City of Rome gave hotel developers their approval for a TAD on Monday.
A TAD would allow any increase in property taxes that comes as a result of improvements to be given back to the developer.
