Rome City Commission Approves TAD for New Motel at 5 Points

The Rome City Commission has approved a $2 million Tax Allocation District (TAD) funding for a Home 2 Suites by Hilton at Five Points near downtown.

The project will call for a 100-plus room hotel at 1024 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.

Floyd County Commissioners will now vote on the TAD Tuesday.

Rome City Manager Sammy Rich reportedly said that if the county does not participate it could take around 12 years to pay the $2 million back.
