Mrs. Melanie Lynn Bell Henley, age 62, of Rockmart, GA passed away suddenly Sunday, July 14, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Melanie was born in Waynesboro, GA on May 24, 1962, a daughter of the late Richard F. Bell and Sydne Florence Bothell Bell. She had been a resident of Rockmart the greater part of her life and was a member of the First Methodist Church. Melanie worked as an optician for her brother Dr. Bruce Bell and later worked as office manager for the law practice of Lee Henley. In 2004 she became an administrative assistant for the Paulding County Superior Court. Melanie loved the beach, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her pets.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Bell and Rick Bell.
Melanie is survived by her husband Lee Henley, to whom she was married on September 19, 1998; four children, Chelsie Warren and her husband, Cody, Chase Wilson, Jennifer Williams and her husband Tyler, and Loren Henley and his wife Angela; seven grandchildren, Lynlee Lou Warren, Emma Warren, Ryleigh Henley, Rowan Wilson, Abby Robertson, Liam Henley, and Greyson Henley; three brothers, Dr. Bruce K. Bell, Tracy King, and Ron Bell; two sisters, Marsha Schlegel and Georganna Wilson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Madden, Jr. officiating and Mr. David Lyles delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Trent McGinnis, Bryson Bell, David Lyles, Matthew Rollins, Tyler Williams, and Bret Warren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
