A 37 year-old homeless Rome man, Michael Brandon Stewert, was arrested this week after police said he attempted to run after they found him in possession of multiple bags of methamphetamine.
Reports said that officer found two bags of meth and over an ounce of marijuana.
He was captured after a brief chase on Flowery Branch Road.
Stewart is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, obstruction and probation violation.
