James Kelly, 42 of Buchannan, was arrested in Cedartown this week after reports said he threatened to kill a 43 year-old Cedartown woman with a table leg.
Reports said that officers were told that Kelly threatened to kill – while holding the table leg up in a threatening manner. Officers added that the table leg was made into a weapon by screwing sharpened washers into the end of the leg.
Police said that after taking Kelly into custody he began to become irate and started to hit his head on the partition between the seats of the patrol car.
The incident occurred at a home on Brooks Street.
Kelly is charged with aggravated assault.
