Robert Allen Byrd, 43 of Euharlee, is facing felony drug charges in Rome after reports said he tried to discard a bag of methamphetamine in the seat of the patrol car while inside the Floyd County Jail.
Police said that Byrd was taken into custody after he was stopped for having broken brake lights. Officers added that during the stop they discovered that Byrd had been driving on a suspended license.
Byrd is charged with possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of drugs by an inmate, driving on a suspended license, a brake light violation and parole violation.
