Brittany Nichole Matthews, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she robbed the Circle K store on North Broad Street.
Officers said that Matthews reached around a shelf on the counter and took a pack of Marlboro 100 cigarettes. She then asked the clerk for a light and when she refused Matthews walked behind the counter and shoved her.
Police added that Matthews ran from them when they ordered her to stop.
Matthews is charged with strong arm robbery, battery and obstruction.
