Nianna Laurena Rose Sparks, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her child to be truant from school.

Reports stated that Sparks was sent a letter on January 8th for a meeting with the truancy team and she failed to show up.  She was then sent another letter for a makeup date.  She again, refused to show. A third and final letter was sent home and again, she refused to show.

Police added that Sparks’ child missed 16 unexcused days of school.

Sparks is charged with the mandatory education of children.
