Christopher Rashon Smith Jr, 18 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he ran from police while they were questioning him.
Police said that they stopped to speak with Smith at Batty Jones Park when he fled the scene on foot.
While being taken into custody, officers added that Smith attempted to fight them.
Smith is charged with obstruction of law enforcement.
