Sai-Ron Ta Shawn Patton, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly physically attacked officers during a traffic stop near the intersection of Ga 20 and Nichols Road.
Police said that the traffic stop was initiated when they observed him driving without his headlights on and with no tag lights.
It was also discovered that he was driving on a suspended license.
Once stopped, Patton is accused of hitting numerous officers with his knees, elbows and feet. He is also accused of breaking officer’s radios, earpiece and shoulder lights.
Patton is charged with simple battery against a police officer, two counts interference with government property, four counts of felony obstruction, driving on a suspended license, attempting to elude police, four counts misdemeanor obstruction, driving on a suspended license, improper headlights, no tag light, failure to maintain lane and a headlight violation.
