Jerramyha Nayshion Wright, 18 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he conspired with others to sell drugs for a street gang.
Police said that Wright was used by the gang to sell narcotics back in July of this year.
Officers added that when they located Wright on East 15th Street this week he fled from them in an effort to prevent his arrest. He was captured after a foot chase.
Wright is charged with unlawful association with a street gang, felony attempt to violate controlled substance act and willful obstruction.
