Rome Woman Uses Another’s Identity to Get Money, Commits Hit and Run

Tamela Dawn Brown, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week when reports said she committed a hit-and-run after committing money fraud.

Police said that Brown left the scene of a car accident on Martha Berry Highway without providing personal information to the victim.

Authorities added that Brown was wanted for identity fraud after she used the banking account information of another person to gain access to his money.  Police said that Brown, without approval of the victim, withdrew $600 from the victim’s bank account in early August of this year.

Brown is charged with identity fraud and hit and run.
