Christopher Michael Chancey, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he was found in possession of drugs after committing numerous thefts around Floyd County.

Police said that on September 26th Chancey broke into the victim’s car at a home on Reeceburg Road and proceeded to steal $150 in cash.

He is also accused of stealing a Ryobi impact wreck from a building on Shorter Industrial Blvd back on June 15th.  Reports stated that Chancey was captured on video stealing the tool, which is valued at $250.

Authorities went on to say that they located Chancey this week on Dean Avenue.   While taking him into custody they said that he was in possession of marijuana and two non-prescribed prescription medications.

Chancey is charged with possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana, theft by taking and entering an automobile with the intent to commit a felony.
