James Tommy Turner, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he vandalized New Victory Ministries Church on Cleveland Avenue.
Reports said that Turner pulled a cross out of the ground and attempted to break it.
Turner is charged with vandalism of a place of worship.
