Jessica Leanne Perez, 22 of Cedartown, was arrested in Rome after reports said she lied to police about driving drunk and causing an accident.
Perez made false statements to police when she said her boyfriend was driving a vehicle that had left the scene of an accident. Investigators determined that it was a lie and that she had been behind the wheel while drinking.
Officers added that numerous open alcoholic beverages were in the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Perez is charged with false statements and writings, DUI, open container and failure to maintain lane.
