Floyd County Police said that Ga 140 was closed for several hours on Wednesday after a dump truck collided with a tractor-trailer near Turner Road just after 8am
Reports said that the dump truck was pulling to the side of the road to pick up garbage when it was struck by a trailer-trailer. The impact then resulted in the tractor trailer catching fire.
Police added that it appeared that the driver of the tractor trailer may have fallen asleep before the crash.
The driver of the garbage truck and tractor-trailer were both transported to a local hospital.
