Jose Enrique Roman-Salgado, 25 of Calhoun, was arrested this week after he allegedly broke into a home on Alabama Highway in Rome and attacked the resident with a hammer.
Police said that Roman-Salgado broke into the home through a glass window and once inside he used a hammer and attempted to strangle a 25 year-old woman.
Roman-Salgado is charged with two counts aggravated assault, first degree burglary, and criminal trespass.
