Christopher Jackson Colburn, 61 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said they stole a sweeper from a Floyd County Water Department worksite.
Reports said that Colburn and another person went to the job site on Huffaker Road and loaded up the sweeper on a truck belonging to their employer before driving away.
The sweeper was valued at $8,000.
The incident occurred on May 19th.
Colburn is charged with felony theft by taking.
