Michael Leborn Byrd, 38 of Jasper, has been jailed in Rome after allegedly removing a bag of cocaine from his crotch and then proceeding to swallow it while inside the jail.
Byrd was originally taken into custody for trespassing at Atrium Health Floyd.
Byrd is charged with tampering with evidence, items prohibited by an inmate, and criminal trespass.
