Ali Anne Dyke, 19 of Cartersville, was jailed in Rome this week for causing a wreck that resulted in the death of 16 year-old Elaine Moorehead last October.

Reports said that Dyke was using her cellphone when she lost control of her vehicle on Ga 20 near Mile Marker 27.  Police said that Dyke’s Chevrolet truck rotated as it crossed lanes of travel before overturning.

Moorehead was ejected from the vehicle.  She was later pronounced deceased at Floyd Medical Center.

The wreck occurred back on October 22, 2022.

Dyke is charged with homicide by vehicle in the 2nd degree, distracted hands free law, seat belt violation and failure to maintain lane
