Another suspect and member of the Real Northside Babies wanted in a gang-related armed robbery, Justin Mykail Beckworth, 18 of Rockmart, has been arrested following a foot chase on Turner McCall Blvd.
Reports said that Beckworth was a passenger in the car when he jumped out and ran from officers near Floyd Medical Center Sunday afternoon.
On October 15, while participating in street gang activity, Justin Beckworth, along with numerous others accused of using a gun to commit an armed robbery. Reports said that the men pointed a gun at another’s head and stole their cash and cellphone. The victim was then punched and kicked repeatedly. He was later treated for injuries to his head, face and body. That incident occurred on Pine Street.
On September 12, police said that while following up on a shooting at a home on Conifer Ring, Beckworth was found to have equal access to marijuana, firearms and Gabapentin pills. He was able to escape capture that night when he fled through a window of the home.
On September 9, Beckworth was found in possession of marijuana and a firearm at the same home on Conifer Ring.
Beckworth is charged with aggravated assault, battery, false imprisonment, robbery, two counts obstruction of law enforcement, participation in street gang activity, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, sale and distribution of dangerous drugs and possession of drug related objects.
