Jakobie Jiquan Adams, 18 of Rome, and Charles Maddarius Lamar Adams, 19 of Rome, were arrested this week following a string of gang activity that included armed robbery, assault, imprisoning and selling drugs.  

On September 7, 2022 Charles and Jakobe are accused of participating tin street gang activity when they distributed illegal narcotics at a convenience store on Burnett Ferry Road.  Charles, Jakobe and one other fled the scene following a shooting at the location.

Then on September 9, Charles, Jakobie, along with Corey Lashun Chatman Jr, Justin Beckworth and Caden Morgan, were found in possession of a large amount of marijuana, packaging materials, illegal narcotics  and a digital scale at a 24B Conifer Ring apartment.

Police added that on October 15, while participating in street gang activity, Charles and Jakobe are accused of using a gun to commit an armed robbery.  They, along with Justin Beckworth, pointed a gun at another’s head and stole their cash and cellphone.  The victim then punched and kicked repeatedly.  He was treated for injuries to his head, face and body. That incident occurred on Pine Street.

The men are part of a gang called Real Northside Babies.

Both teens are charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, battery, false imprisonment, three counts participating in street gang activity, felony attempt to violate controlled substance act, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Charles Adams is additionally charged with possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, obstruction, and possession-distribution of dangerous drugs.
